Club History

Witbank Spurs FC was established in 1962 as Eastern Rangers Football Club. Renamed Ferrometals United F.C. in 1975 in partnership with the Company Ferrometals where the club was involved in the league and the Inter Mining House competitions. Ferrometals Company stopped its subsidy in 2000 and local business people joined hands to form Witbank Spurs Football Club. 

2005  Vodacom League Champions and promoted to the NFD.

2005/06  13th in the Mvela Golden League. Lost 0 – 2 to Black Leopards in the round of 16 of the Nedbank Cup.

2006/07  8th in the Mvela Golden League.

2007/08  6th in the Inland Stream of the NFD.

2008/09  7th in the Inland Stream of the NFD.

2009/10  3rd in the Inland Stream of the NFD.

2010/11  5th in the Inland Stream of the NFD. Lost 3 – 4 to MP Black Aces in the round of 16 of the Nedbank Cup.

2011/12  12th in the new single stream NFD. Lost 0 – 1 to Amazulu in the round of 16 of the Nedbank Cup.

2012/13  5th in the NFD. Lost 0 – 1 to Free State stars in the 1st round of the Nedbank Cup.

2013/14  10th in the NFD. Beat Free State Stars 1 – 0 in 1st round of Nedbank Cup, but lost 1 – 2 to Bloemfontein Celtic in the round of 16.

2014/15 14th in the NFD

2015/16  4th in the NFD. Lost 0 – 2 to Santos in the preliminary round of the Nedbank Cup.

2016/17  7th in the NFD. Lost 0 – 1 to Chippa United in Round 1 of the Nedbank Cup.
