NFD 2017/18 - WEEK 08 WRAP

MTHATHA BUCKS 2 CT ALL STARS 1

Mthatha Bucks returned to winning ways after successive defeats and climbed to 5th on the log overtaking their Cape opponents in the process. Nhlabathi and Ntjolo both poached their first goals of the season and just as well because Erasmus who scored 5 goals in 5 starts has gone off the boil. Bucks have won all 4 home matches in the past over the Cape club, but did concede a goal to All Stars at home for the first time. The All Stars goals came from Setelele, who netted his 3rd of the season.

NFD 2017/18 - WEEK 08 PREVIEW

MTHATHA BUCKS v CT ALL STARS

After successive defeats and a slip down to 7th on the table, Bucks need to get their season back on track come Saturday. And there’s a good chance that it could happen because Bucks have won all 3 home matches in the past over the Cape club and have not conceded a goal to All Stars at home either. New All Stars coach Vladislav Heric is an experienced campaigner and will look to cause more problems for their hosts.

TSHAKHUMA TSHA MADZIHANDILA v STELLENBOSCH FC

CHANGE IS INEVITABLE

Change is inevitable and no more so than on the National First Division who changed from a four stream competition in the 1996/97 season to a Coastal/Inland system a year later. This system continued up until the start of the 2011/12 season when 16 teams made up the NFD single stream system. This is currently in use today.

Change had not been seen only in the league structure and over the years many teams have come and gone.

KIKI MONARENG SPEAKS TO MBOMBELA UTD COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER - SOSTERN GUTSAA

Kiki: Tell me about yourself who you are?

Sostern: I used to work.in the computer and IT industry. I have always had a passion for creating publications. I did a publication for Emahlangeni Sport Academy, which was a professional magazine. Everyone was happy and I subsequently joined Mbombela United in 2011 on a full time basis when they were promoted to the NFD, as I was seen as someone who can take over there media space duties like updating there website, twitter and facebook platforms.
