REAL KINGS 0 WITBANK SPURS 1

Witbank Spurs got their season off to a winning start on Saturday and extended their unbeaten record against the KZN side to 5 matches. Goalkeeper Zwane scored the only goal of the match just after halftime. Spurs will be hoping to do even better than their start to last season, where they went 6 matches unbeaten. Spurs are 5th on the log, the same pace in which they finished last season, while Kings are in 13th.

MHLONGO TO COACH TS SPORTING

TS Sporting Football Club announced the arrival of Benson Mhlongo as their new head coach. The former Ass. Coach of Orlando Pirates will resume his duties with immediate effect.

TS Sporting FC Chairman Slungu Thobela took the opportunity to welcome Benson by saying “we will make sure that you have all the resources that you need to succeed”.

MACCABI FC AND TS SPORTING PROMOTED TO NFD

Maccabi FC from Gauteng and TS Sporting from Mpumalamga have been promoted to the NFD after winning their semi-finals in Polokwane this afternoon.

While Maccabi saw off the challenge of local favourites The Dolphins 3 - 1, TS Sporting drew 1 - 1 with Mangaung United at full time forcing post match penalties. With the shootout level at 4 all, Mangaiung missed their spot kick. And with TS sporting holding their nerve, the Mpumalanga side slooted thie spot kick to advance to the final of the Motsepe League on Saturday, but more crucial, earn their place in the NFD for next season.
