CT ALL STARS 0 STELLENBOSCH FC 0

The Cape derby ended in a goalless draw on Friday, leaving CT All Stars unbeaten in 2017 despite dropping points for the first time. All Stars stay 11th with the draw, 8 points clear of the drop zone. Stellenbosch FC drop to 7th with some of the teams around them getting wins in Round 19. All Stars have still never lost to Stellenbosch FC.

UNVERSITY of PRETORIA 2 THANDA ROYAL ZULU 0

Homeside Tuks caused the upset of the season so far when they ended the unbeaten record of Thanda in Pretoria on Saturday. Goals from Burds and new signing Chapmans did the business for the student side who have climbed from 10th to 5th in the space of two matches. Thanda are still 7 points clear of the chasing pack, but have dropped seven points in their last three encounters. The win for Tuks is their first ever against Thanda.

BLACK LEOPARDS 1 WITBANK SPURS 0

Lidoda Duvha extended their win record to 4 out of 4 in 2017 to be the most successful side in the NFD this year. The second placed side also reduced the gap to logleaders Thanda to 7 points after the KZN side lost to Tuks. Spurs have yet to register a win in 2017 and have slipped into the bottom half of the table.

FC CAPE TOWN 0 SANTOS FC 0

Santos will spend an 8th week in the relegation zone after the 2nd of the Cape derbies also ended goalless on Saturday. FC CT are seven points clear of the drop zone, but with 11 matches still to play, not out of the woods as far as being sure of NFD football next season is concerned.  

MTHATHA BUCKS 3 MAGESI FC 2

Goals from Kangwa, Mncube and Ngebo gave the home side a narrow victory over a gutsy bottom side Magesi in Mthatha on Saturday and re-establish their challenge for a Playoff place. The Eastern Cape side are unbeaten at home this season. Magesi have yet to win in 2017 and remain at the bottom of the table for a 12th week.  

JOMO COSMOS 2 MBOMBELA UNITED FC 0

Cosmos bounced back into Playoff contention in Tsakane when they avenged the defeat by Mbombela in Mpumalanga earlier in the season. Goals from Lingwati and Madonsela sealed the three points for Cosmos, moving them up to 4th and level on points with Royal Eagles who occupy the second Playoff spot currently. Mbombela have not won a match away from home this season and remain in 10th.          

MILANO UNITED FC 2 ROYAL EAGLES 0

In a match postponed from Saturday, 14th placed Milano caused one of the shocks of the seson by beating 3rd placed Royal Eagles in Cape Town on Sunday. Booi with his 8th goal in 11 matches opened the scoring for the home side with Jappie sealing the points for the Cape side. While Milano stay 14th, the gap back to the relegation zone has increased to 5 points. Eagles stay 3rd but have only registered one away win all season.             

AMAZULU FC 2 REAL KINGS 2

A brace from veteran striker Siyabonga Nomvethe saw Amazulu burgle a point from Real Kings in a KZN derby on Sunday. The visitors led with goals from Nzimande and Kunene, but Nomvethe showed character to lift his goal tally to 13 for the season, he is the third highest goal scorer so far. The point for Kings lifted them into 12th position, above FC CT on goal difference.
