NFD PREVIEW - WEEK 29

UNIVERSITY of PRETORIA v BLACK LEOPARDS

Black Leopards have been in a Playoff position for the past 13 weeks and will want to take one step closer to the post season with a victory over a side that has won only twice in their last 9 outings. Tuks are safe from relegation which might give them the freedom to play relaxed foottball. Leopards can be sure that there will be no handover of the points today. To Leoaprds advantage is the fact that they have never lost in the capital against Tuks. The student side though could spoil the party for Lidoda Duvha.

SANTOS FC v WITBANK SPURS

Will already relegated Santos throw in the towel and concede the points to Playoff chasing Spurs or will the Cape side muscle-up and act as spoilers this afternoon. The Cape side have only 1 win over Spurs at home and that was back in 2013.

AMAZULU v JOMO COSMOS

Five wins in their last 7 outings has propelled Amazulu right back into contention for a place in the post season. They face a Cosmos side whose campaign had floundered and flopped in recent weeks. Although Cosmos are safe from relegation, they could spoil the day for the KZN side. The teams have met 41 times with Cosmos grabbing 19 wins to 7 from Usuthu and Cosmos hammered Amazulu 4 – 1 in the 1st Round.

THANDA ROYAL ZULU v FC CAPE TOWN

Thanda lost their first match as NFD Champions to All Stars and will be keen to win in front of their home fans against relegation threatened FC Cape Town. The Cape side are 4th from bottom, and 3 points clear of Magesi in 15th. A loss to the Cape side could prove their undoing should Milano and Magesi post victories. Their advantage is the 3 point gap earned by the win against bucks last weekend.

MILANO UNITED FC v STELLENBOSCH FC

A 3rd from top versus 3rd from bottom Cape derby in a match where one side is challenging for a place in the Playoffs, while the other is fighting for their NFD survival. Milano are only 1 point above the relegation zone, while their visitors are 1 point away from 2nd place and almost ready for the post season.

ROYAL EAGLES v MBOMBELA UNITED FC

4th placed Eagles face an Mbombela side whose Playoff aspirations were dashed in the Mpumalanga derby last weekend. Eagles are in a battle with 4 other sides for a place in the post season and will want to win at all costs in their final home match of the season. Mbombela are safe from relegation and cannot make the post season, but they could spoil the season the Royal Eagles with a good result.

MAGESI FC v REAL KINGS

Magesi are fighting for their lives and have to beat fellow NFD rookies Real Kings to have any chance of survival. Magesi beat Kings on penalties to win the ABC Motsepe League last season, but that was an awfully long time ago. Kings hammered the Limpopo side 3 – 0 in the 1st Round and are safely in midtable.

MTHATHA BUCKS v CT ALL STARS

With both sides safe from relegation and not in the mix for honours this season, the match between Bucks and All Stars is one of fighting for pride. Bucks will be disappointed with a midtable finish, with their 13 draws the major culprit. All Stars want to finish on the top half of the table and are traveling with intent to win.
