The 2016/17 National First Division champions, Thanda Royal Zulu will receive a brand new NFD trophy this weekend – replacing the old NFD trophy that has been in existence for the past couple of seasons. The trophy will be unveiled on Sunday, 14 May 2017 ahead of the NFD fixture between Real Kings and champions, Thanda Royal Zulu.
The new trophy celebrates 21 years of NFD football and also a move to invigorate the National First Division brand.
“The Eagle” is a unique piece, stands at 700mm high
The design was inspired by an Eagle which stands majestically on the NFD wood mark on the logo.
The handles are shaped like the wings of the Eagle
The design encapsulates what the NFD Brand stands for: Courage, Vision and Endurance.
