Kiki: Tell me about yourself who you are?

Sostern: I used to work.in the computer and IT industry. I have always had a passion for creating publications. I did a publication for Emahlangeni Sport Academy, which was a professional magazine. Everyone was happy and I subsequently joined Mbombela United in 2011 on a full time basis when they were promoted to the NFD, as I was seen as someone who can take over there media space duties like updating there website, twitter and facebook platforms.

Kiki: ‎What marketing drives does the club use to attract supporters as your stadium is most times packed to the rafters.

Sostern: What we did at the club was that we stayed with the supporters we had in the ABC Motsepe League. We made sure that the fans are always well informed about club matters and instilled a belief that the team belongs to them. Have meetings on a regular basis, creating a vibe before a game and also going to local radio stations.in Mpumalanga to market the team and the upcoming game.

Kiki: What measures can be used to bring back supporters to stadiums, and have more bums on seats?

Sostern: We at the club we focused on one area with a large fan base and try to use the methods that work in that part of the province in creating other branches. We also subsidize supporters fees by only charging them half price for a return price fare. When we played in Durban we provided 2 busses to watch the team. In Wit‎bank we provided 3 busses and for the recent game we had two Iveco busses to accompany the team. As a club you also need to communicate properly with supporters. You must also utilise stadiums within walking distance and not in residential areas like Mbombela Stadium where supporters must take two taxis at least costing them + - R60 to the stadium excluding the R40 match ticket.

Kiki: Please inform us about the relationship you have with Busco?

Sostern: Our chairman liases with Busco, there are also other people involved with the organization not only him. They are our transport partners and they take us anywhere where transport is required.
