With the halfway mark of the season quickly approaching. the competition to be crowned the NFD's top goal scorer is hotting up with four players leading the charge on 6 goals each.  Last season was a bit of a runaway for Sedwyn George from Royal Eagles with 20 goals and Mhlengi Cele from Thanda Royal Zulu close behind with 19. Veteran Nomvethe wasn't far off the mark with 17 goals for Amazulu. 

This is how matters stand after Round 14 of the current season.

Tshepo Liphoko from Mbombela United FC scored a brace in Rnd 4 against All Stars and has followed that up with goals against Highlands, TTM FC, Cosmos and Mthatha Bucks.

Nkosingiphile Phewa from Real Kings had to wait until Round 7 to open his account against Highlands, then scored two more individual goals against Mthatha Bucks and Royal Eagles before poaching a hattrick against TTM FC in Round 14. 

Super Eagles striker Modibedi Mokoena has scores his 6 goals against 6 different opponents. Starting off in Round 1 against Witbank Spurs, Mokoena has also scored against Mbombela, Uthongathi, Tuks, All Stars and most recently against Richards Bay FC.

Gabriel Moseki rounds out the group of 4 with a hattrick against Mbombela in Round 6. That feat was followed up with goals against Super Eagles, Richards Bay and last weekend against CT All Stars.
